Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to produce a GabRat presentation image.
Is the Gaussian blur in this case still the Gaussian Acuity Control?
I guess “Set the min and max appropriately” probably means running: Image Visualisation > Set Min and Max
But when I change the standard values (0, 255) even by +/-1, the whole image turns black.
What is meant with choosing a suitabel LUT?
I would be very grateful about some help with that or more details.

Hi Veronika,
The Gaussian blur you apply should be equal to the sigma level you used when doing the GabRat. If you’re applying acuity-control to your images before GabRat (which generally makes sense), then you’ve probably chosen a pixels-per-MRA of 5. If so I’d probably recommend a sigma of 5 or slightly higher when using GabRat (the default is 3), and then use a sigma of 5 for the Gaussian blur of the GabRat output.
The exact numbers you choose aren’t super-important if they’re all in the same rough range. The key is making them consistent throughout the entire study.
The same goes for setting max and min. You’ve just applied to Gaussian blur to an image which is on a 0-1 range, so the resulting image will have very low values. Try setting the min and max to auto. Again, they key is using the same processing and min-and-max values throughout your study (e.g. to illustrate high and low edge disruption). So choose values accordingly, and link them to the real GabRat values produced.
