Version 2.1.0 includes two main changes:
Desaturation Function
Sensor noise can create false chromatic information in dark parts of the image. We’ve therefore introduced a desaturation function available when converting an image to cone-catch.
Image visualisation sRGB false colour
The false-colour images created by the toolbox allow a user to place the desired cone-catch channels into specific RGB image channels. While this is simple and makes it straightforward to see saturation differences between animals, it also doesn’t work nicely for human spectral sensitivities and RGB displays, tending to hide the differences between red and green (because humans have such overlapping LW and MW sensitivities). Converting the image to sRGB colour space (assuming the input is CIE XYZ) creates perfectly “normal” looking images. Other animals with greater spectral acuity in the red-green region will quickly create out-of-gamut colours that the space can’t deal with, but the results look a lot more arresting. This function is available in the “Make presentation image” function.
Update: I forgot to add the “Average Stack” function in the first upload of version 2.1.0’s desaturation function. So if you get an error just re-download and it should work fine.
When I try to open an image in ImageJ, there is always a notification says, “Macro or script not found:/Users/Mac/Desktop/ImageJ.app/plugins/micaToolbox-2/micaToolbox/_Generate_Multispectral_Inage.ijm”. How to deal with this? thank you~
Hi,
Please refer to the forum for technical assistance. It sounds like there might be an issue with the folder structure, please see the installation guide for detailed instructions of how to do a clean install.
Cheers,
